Canadian Disability Studies Association Annual Conference

The Canadian Disability Studies Association invites abstract submissions
for papers to be presented at the 11th annual conference to be held at
Brock University. Our CDSA meeting is part of the larger Congress 2014 of
the Humanities and Social Sciences.

CDSA’s 2014 theme “Borders without Boundaries” reflects the overall
Congress theme. We are seeking contributions that demonstrate the ways in
which disability challenges, disturbs or blurs the borders of taken for
granted or privileged practices in the global north and south. Should your
critical work exist beyond or outside of these margins, we still welcome
your response to the call.

CARINNA, in conneciton with Living Lab ActivAgeing and in the framework of SIforAGE is undertaking an activity that brings together new technologies developers in the area of active and healthy ageing and users. The TEC (Technology Experience Café) aims to generate a positive and fruitful experience for both users and developers with first hand information for both users and developers. The activity will be in a nice ambient and will allow new technologies developers to integrate the handling, ergonomics, accessibility and other criteria to their technologies.

The experience will take place in Champagne-Ardenne, in the Technopole de l’Aube, Rosière-Près-Troyes, France. It wil be celebrated on this October 15th and 16th.

This activity is coordinatedby several partners inside SIforAGE proyect: CARINNA, Universitè of Pau and Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL). Representatives from regional authority, universities, helpers/family association, carers/practitioners, regional entity in charge of healthcare coordination are also involved in this experience.
