SIforAGE member Elza De Souza participates in the “2015 International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges”

The “2015 International Conference on Health Promoting Universities and Colleges:  10 Years after the Edmonton Charter” was held in Canada during the 22nd and 25th of June. SIforAGE member Elza de Souza (from Fundação Universidade de Brasilia-DSC) participated and made a presentation on “Active ageing in an intergenerational perspective: a strategy for a health promoting University”, in which she concluded that Active and Healthy Ageing is possible in a variety of means. She also explained that intergenerational activities seem to be a strategy to promote Active and Healthy Ageing process and they can be an initiative of the universities to interact with the community; it deserves well-planned practice and more research to show effectiveness.

The VII International Congress created a dynamic meeting place for researchers, practitioners, administrators, students and policy-makers from around the world to explore pressing issues and identify promising paths for healthy and sustainable campus development. The Charter development process engaged people from 45 countries: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Central African Republic, Chile, China, Columbia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Norway, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, The Netherlands, United Kingdom (England, Scotland), United States, Uruguay, Venezuela.
