Last 20th and 21st of July the University of Gloucestershire (UK) hosted the 4th International Summer School organized by the Women, Ageing and Media Research Center (WAM). WAM is one of the founding partners of ENAS along with the Dedal-Lit group and other European universities and research centers.
The two-day event gathered researchers from North America, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel, Denmark, Austria, Romania, Spain, Ireland and the UK. The interdisciplinary summer school approached issues about the intersection between space and time at old age. Professor and sociologist Barbara Marshall from Trent University in Canada served as the keynote speaker.
SIforAGE members Maricel Oró, Ieva Stoncikaite and Núria Mina (the three of them from Group DEDAL-LIT, Universitat de Lleida) attended the event and presented the SIforAGE project. Ieva Stoncikaite and Núria Mina presented two papers called Sexually Active Aging Women: Liberated “Docile Bodies”? and The Ageing Experience Shaping the Portrayal of Place in Lorna Crozier’s Poetry, respectively. At the same time, Maricel Oró helped organizing the event and presented two panels.
The summer school reviews will be published in the online PGR journal PG WAM, produced by the WAM Research Center.
